Food & Dye: Textile Design with Food Waste with CocoNuco

We will create intricate textiles for interiors by utilizing food and floral scraps from our neighbors. In this workshop we will move through a methodical process in transforming food waste into beautiful prints, patterns, and colors onto natural fibers for common home decor pieces, such as cloth napkins, tea towels, and wall hangings.
All supplies are included in the workshop fee. Pre-mordanted blanks of original SOMOS by CocoNuco designs, along with bundles of naturally dyed textiles to print on the day of, will be available for purchase. Pre dried, hand-crafted botanical pigments for simple home use will also be available for purchase to experiment with for future projects.
Materials included: pre-mordanted tea towels and cloth napkins, food scraps, flowers scraps, mordants, modifiers,wooden blocks, clay, paint brushes, xacto knives, paint, samples linen and cotton, needle, thread, twine, informative handouts to keep track of your samples.
